Here are a few photos of the kitchen before the renovation.
Looking into the kitchen from the living and dining area, it’s fairly closed off with a 4′ wide doorway.
It’s in OK shape, with a simple layout, 1960’s cabinets, red tile counters, and vinyl floors.
Last year, we replaced the water supply lines throughout the house. The old galvanized iron pipe was so corroded that only a trickle of water was coming through. Other than that and replacing the dishwasher, we haven’t done any other work in the kitchen.
It’s a galley layout. With a 9 x 12 footprint, there aren’t many other options. And for a beach house, it works just fine.
Our plan is replace everything in the kitchen, but not change the layout significant;y. We want it updated – and we plan on staying in a budget of about $4000.
In my next post, I’ll go over renovation plan.
